9 Day tour - Ontario and Québec
Our adventure begins early with a friendly welcome from your Moose guide before we journey toward Montréal. Our first stop is at the Big Apple; be sure to try their famous apple pie! Next is a lunch stop before a cruise through the Thousand Islands, located in the Saint Lawrence River along the Canada-USA border. Enjoy Ontario’s unique landscape, where over 1800 islands form this incredible archipelago. Tonight we explore the vibrant nightlife of Montréal, just steps away from the hostel. (Thousand Islands boat cruise included).
This morning we explore Montréal, City of Festivals, and an important cultural mecca in French-speaking Canada. Afterward, enjoy free time to explore on your own. We recommend the hike to the top of Mont Royal for spectacular views of the Island of Montréal, as well as some authentically Montréal cuisine (try Schwartz’s Deli for Montréal smoked meat!). Don’t forget your French translator to assist with your language skills. (Breakfast included).
This morning we visit Montmorency Falls, an impressive waterfall higher than Niagara Falls, before arriving in Québec City. The city is renowned for its historic defence walls, known as the Ramparts of Québec City. Be sure to climb this National Historic Site of Canada to enjoy spectacular city views and an unforgettable sunset. Tonight, enjoy a group dinner at the hostel and leisure time. (Breakfast and dinner included).
Take time today to wander the city’s narrow walkways and historic streets; a walk down to the Lower Town is a must-do! If you want to experience nature today, the option to embark on a whale watching excursion from a small francophone village, Tadoussac, is available for $99.00 CAD. Tadoussac is one of Canada’s oldest permanently settled communities (initially founded by French-Europeans). Tonight, enjoy some poutine (Snack Bar is certainly recommended) to get a taste of local flavour; bon appétit!
Up bright and early to journey to Mont-Tremblant, a beautiful region located in the Laurentian Mountains. Our lunch stop today is Mont-Tremblant National Park where we will enjoy some beautiful scenery during our hike. A walk through the quaint ski village in Mont-Tremblant is on the agenda before arriving at the accommodation for a group dinner and leisure night. Enjoy stories and laughs around an evening campfire. (Dinner included).
This morning we journey through the spectacular Laurentian Mountains towards Ottawa, Canada’s capital city. En route, we stop for an interactive look at Canadian wildlife including deer, bear, moose, and caribou; feeding the animals is part of the experience! Once we arrive in Ottawa and check into the hostel, enjoy a city walk to the historic Parliament Hill, a National Historic Site of Canada. Afterward we venture to the Byward Market for an evening of your choosing. If time permits, be sure to admire the view of Ottawa from Nepean Point; it is spectacular.
Enjoy breakfast at the hostel and some free time in the morning to continue exploring our nation’s capital. We suggest walking across the Ontario-Québec border to the Canadian Museum of History for unforgettable views of Parliament Hill. We depart in the afternoon for Fort-Coulonge, arriving at HI-Davidson, Esprit Lodge. If you choose to raft the next day ($115.00 including lunch) you are in good hands; the Esprit team was voted one of top rafting companies in the world by National Geographic! Join the campfire tonight and meet your rafting guides. (Breakfast and dinner included).
For our rafting enthusiasts, today is an early start at 7:30 am. We take a short ride to the departure point and spend the day on the river. If you decide to stay at the lodge, there are plenty of options including swimming, canoeing, biking, and hiking. Enjoy another great meal tonight alongside a sunset over the Ottawa River. (Breakfast and dinner included, lunch included if you are rafting).
After breakfast we journey back to Toronto, with a lunch stop at Bon Echo Provincial Park, famous for the impressive 100 metre high cliff Mazinaw Rock. We arrive back to Toronto in the early evening. (Breakfast included).
