Breathe in the fresh Atlantic air, listen to the waves crash along rugged coastline, and feel the sand between your toes; the Puffin tour showcases the best of the Canadian Maritimes. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the smallest province of all, Prince Edward Island!
You’ll be sure to see plenty of seabirds such as herons, gannets and kingfishers and the (less adorable but very majestic) bald eagle. If that isn’t enough, take a whale watching cruise to see humpbacks, minke and more, plus adorable seals!
New Brunswick is famous for lobster, so of course we will be boarding a lobster boat to enjoy the freshest lobster lunch available. We will hike trails on Cape Breton Island, check out the incredible tidal changes and rock formations at the Bay of Fundy, keep our eyes peeled for moose and other wildlife, relax on sandy beaches, and even visit the Anne of Green Gables homestead!

BASIC TOUR – Moose will pre-book your accommodation throughout the tour but you are responsible for payment directly to hostels upon check-in. A local fee is due upon departure.
INCLUSIVE TOUR – Our inclusive tour has all accommodation costs and local fees incorporated into the price of the tour. If you book an inclusive tour there are no extra fees unless you decide to join in any optional activities that have a cost associated with them.
7 Day tour - Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island
After a friendly welcome from your Moose guide and fellow passengers, we journey toward the awe-inspiring region of the Cape Breton Highlands, home to Canada's Scottish heritage. There are several breathtaking photo stops en-route and we will hike the famous Skyline Trail; keep your eyes open for moose! Tonight we stay in a lovely hostel alongside the Cabot Trail. (Dinner included).
Today there is an option to embark on an amazing whale watching tour in the Atlantic Ocean! We continue to explore Cape Breton Island, with unforgettable stops including MacIntosh Brook and Black Brook Cove Beach. We spend the evening by campfire alongside fellow passengers. (Whale watching excursion included).
Today we continue to explore Cape Breton Island. A drive along the Cabot Trail leads to stops including Ingonish Beach and the Middle Head Hiking Trail where views from coastal cliffs are spectacular. We spend the evening by campfire alongside fellow passengers. (Dinner included).
Today we visit Louisbourg, Nova Scotia, where you can choose to take a tour of the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. The Fort was created in 1713 by French-Europeans and developed over several decades into an important commercial port and system of defence. Its two sieges, especially that of 1758, were turning points in the Anglo-Franco struggle in what would later define Canada. Tonight is a leisure night back at the hostel.
This morning’s journey leads to Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province. Enjoy a beautiful drive and a ferry ride across the Gulf of Saint Lawrence! Before settling in the hostel for the night, we will explore Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island’s capital city and home to Canada's Confederation signing!
Today we continue to explore Prince Edward Island, visiting Cavendish Beach as well as the beautiful Anne of Green Gables homestead. (Breakfast included).
We start back into New Brunswick today across the 13 kilometre long Confederation Bridge and embark on a lobster boat cruise with a fresh lobster lunch. This is followed by a tour of the Hopewell Rocks, a topographically impressive region of the Bay of Fundy. This is where you can see and learn about the incredible tidal changes which are some of the highest in the world! Tonight join your guide for a city walk and night out on the town. (Breakfast included).
***ONLY FOR EXTENDED TOURS FINISHING IN QUÉBEC CITY OR TORONTO*** Québec City is our destination today! With a quick stop at Montmorency Falls, we arrive in Québec City in the evening. Québec City is renowned for its historic defence walls, known as the Ramparts of Québec City. Be sure to climb this National Historic Site of Canada to enjoy spectacular city views and an unforgettable sunset. Tonight, enjoy some poutine (Snack Bar is certainly recommended) to get a taste of local flavour; bon appétit! (Breakfast included).
***ONLY FOR EXTENDED TOURS FINISHING IN TORONTO*** Take time today to wander the city’s narrow walkways and historic streets; a walk down to the Lower Town is a must-do! Enjoy another group dinner at the hostel before venturing out for a fun night. (Dinner included).
***ONLY FOR EXTENDED TOURS FINISHING IN TORONTO*** We journey into the countryside of “la belle province” and travel to Canada’s capital city, Ottawa. After settling into the hostel, join your guide for a walk to historic Parliament Hill before ending in the Byward Market for an evening of your choosing. If time permits, be sure to admire the view from Nepean Point; it is spectacular.
***ONLY FOR EXTENDED TOURS FINISHING IN TORONTO*** Enjoy a free day today to explore Canada’s capital. We suggest walking across the Ontario-Québec border to the Canadian Museum of History for unforgettable views of Parliament Hill. (Breakfast included).

We head to Toronto today, stopping along the way to have a picnic lunch at Sandbanks Provincial Park on one of the most beautiful beaches in Ontario! We arrive back in Toronto in the early evening. There are so many activities included on our Puffin tour that there isn't too much time for many extras. Although we recommend trying everything, you are always free to join the group, explore by yourself or just take some time to relax and get away from it all!

We reserve a single bed per passenger in shared hostel dorm rooms. If you prefer to stay in a private room or an alternative location this must be booked independently - Please reserve a basic tour as accommodation costs cannot be transferred from an inclusive tour.
Accommodation costs are included in the price of our inclusive tour, if you have reserved a basic tour then payment is due directly to the hostels upon check-in.

- Book your pre-departure accommodation in advance. Toronto hostels are incredibly busy through June - September so if you are travelling then, plan ahead! Moose tours pick up at the 3 major hostels in Toronto.
